Not only is our front desk staff friendly, caring, and dedicated to providing quality dental care, they are also exceptionally well trained and educated. Continuing education is an integral part of maintaining excellence in our practice. Our dentists, hygienists, clinical assistants, and administrative staff attend seminars and courses year round, keeping us up-to-date with the latest in dental treatment and technology. Almost all of our assistants are either certified or registered; and we support their further advancement and building of credentials (recognition from the state for expanded functions, for example).

Kenneth N. Feiler, D.M.D., F.A.G.D.

Dr. Kenneth N. Feiler has been creating beautiful smiles for more than 30 years, including those of celebrities from sports, film, television, and Broadway. As a graduate of Rutgers University as well as the Fairleigh Dickinson University School of Dental Medicine, where he later taught prosthodontics and oral diagnosis, he has written and continues to write articles on all aspects of dentistry. This has expanded into founding and directing the New Jersey Health Professionals Development Institute (NJHPDI), which offers a variety of health education courses for dental professionals.

Dr. Feiler is the first and most experienced general dentist in New Jersey who is an Elite Provider of Invisalign . He is also an accredited member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, making him one of only two practitioners in the country holding both titles. Dr. Feiler earned the Invisalign®designation by being one of the nation's most experienced providers of this comfortable, nearly invisible alternative to metal braces.
Dr Feiler is an accredited member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry® (AACD), the largest cosmetic dental organization in the world. He is one of only 338 AACD accredited dentists worldwide, and the only accredited dentist in the Bergen, Passaic, and Essex County areas, with only 6 members throughout New Jersey. To achieve that position, he completed extensive advanced training and education in cosmetic dentistry. In addition, he passed a rigorous accreditation board examination. The AACD defines an accredited member as one who has demonstrated a very high level of technical skill and ability in cosmetic dentistry.
Dr. Feiler is also a member of the Academy of Laser Dentistry, one of the largest international organizations devoted to laser dentistry. Its members are top clinicians, academicians and researchers in all applications of laser technology to dentistry. It promotes education and research through its certification programs, publications and informational meetings.
Dr. Feiler is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
Among Dr. Feiler’s other achievements are fellowships from the Academy of General Dentistry and the prestigious National Institute of Dental Research in Bethesda, Maryland. He has presented at the Greater New York Dental Meeting and the AACD.
Dr. Feiler has catered to a wide range of dental needs, from preventive to cosmetic dentistry, treating and educating his patients of all ages -- from children to senior citizens. He is a fine person and a caring individual, concerned with his patients personally as well as for their dental health. Dr. Feiler’s contributions to the community extend beyond creating healthy, beautiful smiles; he has been active in the local community, coaching and sponsoring local teams and recreational and cultural events such as the annual River Edge 5K Run. Dr. Feiler is not only an acclaimed dentist with a close eye for cosmetics, but also a good friend to the communities he has served over the years.
Kenneth Hilsen, D.D.S.
A Pioneer in the Field of Oral Appliance Therapy for the Treatment of Snoring and Sleep Apnea
Dr. Hilsen received his DDS degree from New York University College of Dentistry. He completed his Prosthodontic Specialty training in a combined 3-year program at NY Veterans Administration Hospital and New York University. Dr. Hilsen also served as Clinical Professor at Mount Sinai Hospital and Assistant Professor at NYU.
Dr. Hilsen is a charter member and past President of the Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and is on the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Sleep Society. He is boarded by the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine in the area of sleep dentistry. Dr. Hilsen is a member of the credentialed staff at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck and is on the Medical Advisory Panel at the Valley Hospital's Center for Sleep Medicine.
Having treated sleep apnea patients for over twenty years, Dr. Hilsen sought out his own solution to aid in the elimination of snoring - leading to the creation and patenting of his own oral appliance.

Paula A. Gencarelli, D.M.D.
Family Dentistry
Dr. Paula Gencarelli has been exclusively treating patients at Feiler Dental Associates for over 10 years. She graduated from Rutgers University with her degree in biology. Dr. Gencarelli attended the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, where she has earned several awards including the Accelerated Clinical Experience Award and the Academy of Dental Practice Administration Award. She was also a member of the Gamma Pi Delta Prosthodontic Honor Society.
Dr. Gencarelli trained as a general practice resident at Seton Hall University’s School of Graduate Medical Education at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in New Jersey. As a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, she has worked in geriatric outreach programs in local nursing homes as well as the Colgate Brite Smiles and Brite Futures Outreach Prevention Program for children in the Newark area of New Jersey. With a desire and commitment to excellence and a contagious laugh, Dr. Gencarelli has a diverse following in ages and personalities among our patients. Dr. Gencarelli treats patients at our River Edge and Wanaque offices.
Harris J. Levine, D.D.S.
Family Dentistry, Sign Language for the Hearing Impaired
Dr. Harris J. Levine received his B.A. and M.A. from Hunter College, CUNY, where he taught biochemistry and did research in the field of muscle physiology. Dr. Levine received his D.D.S. degree from the University of Illinois in Chicago, where he also taught Oral Anatomy and Oral Biology.
Dr. Levine is proficient in all aspects of family practice especially cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry. He has over thirty years experience in placing porcelain laminates including Lumineers®. He is also member of the Bergen County Dental Society, the New Jersey State Dental Association and the American Dental Association.
Dr. Levine has always been active in his community. He has been a member of the Fort Lee Board of Health for 22 years and it’s president for the past 19 years. He has performed oral cancer screenings every year at Fort Lee's annual Health Fair. Dr. Levine is one of the original executive board members of the New Jersey Local Boards of Health Association and was its vice president for many years. Through his association with this group and his membership in the New Jersey Breathes Organization, he has helped to bring anti-smoking legislation through the Clean Indoor Act to the New Jersey Legislature where it became the law of the state. He is also president and secretary of the Fort Lee Lions Club.
Dr. Levine is also an accomplished magician, a member of The International Brotherhood of Magicians, as well as an avid golfer and sky diver.
Lauren Sattazahn-Cannavo, D.M.D.
Family Dentistry
Dr. Sattazahn-Cannavo attended the University of Scranton where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. She then graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ and received her Doctor of Medical Dentistry. She also completed her General Dentistry Residency at Overlook Hospital, an affiliate of the renowned Mount Sinai School of Medicine of New York University.
While in school, she received several awards and was president of the New Jersey Student Dental Society, UMDNJ. She became a member of the Gamma Pi Delta Prosthodontic Honor Society. Dr. Sattazhan-Cannavo is a member of The American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentists, New Jersey Dental Associates, and Bergen County Dental Association. She has also volunteered at Give Kids a Smile Day and Oral Health Education to elementary children. Through her gentle and caring chair-side manner she has been able to build a positive and trusting relationship with her patients.
Saju Mathew, D.D.S.

Dr. Saju Mathew treats both children and adults at Feiler Dental Associates. Dr. Mathew always receives rave reviews from his patients who enjoy personalized orthodontic care. His patients receive constant evaluation and observation that produce fantastic results.
Dr. Mathew graduated with honors from Cornell University where he earned his bachelor’s of science. He graduated from the State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine in 2002 to obtain his D.D.S. He then continued on to earn his Certificate in Orthodontics in 2005. He was a private practitioner for 3 years before joining Feiler Dental Associates in 2008.
Dr. Mathew’s professional memberships include the New Jersey State Dental Association, the Essex County Dental Society, the American Dental Association, and the American Association of Orthodontists. He is also Invisalign and Lingual iBraces Certified. Since the fall of 2005, he has held a faculty position at the New York University School of Dentistry as an Invisalign instructor.
Dr. Mathew has been honored with several national awards. In 2000, he received the NIDCR/NIH Summer Dental Student Research Award. In 2001, he received the ADEA-Listerine Preventive Dentistry Award as well as the AADR/Dentsply Student Research Award.
Valerie Karraker, D.D.S.
Family Dentistry, Endodontics
Dr. Karraker attended the University of Illinois Health Science Center in Chicago, where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Dentistry as well as her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree. Before moving to New Jersey with her husband, she practiced dentistry for seven years in Massachusetts. Dr. Karraker has been practicing in our River Edge office for over 12 years! She is a general dentist with a technically meticulous style of practice and a lovely personality. She has a wide range of dental abilities with special interest and expertise in the area of endodontics (root canals).
Michael H. Reshad, D.D.S.

Dr. Reshad, a periodontist, attended New York University College of Dentistry, where he received honors in implants and comprehensive care and applied practice administration as well as earned his advanced specialty training in postgraduate periodontics. He currently holds a prestigious position as a professor in the implant department at NYU. Dr. Reshad has been at Feiler Dental Associates for over 12 years, and holds memberships with the Northeastern Society of Periodontology, the American Dental Association and the Academy of Osseointegration. Dr. Reshad currently practices in our River Edge office.
Christina J. Lee, D.M.D.
Family Dentistry
Dr. Christina J. Lee earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology from Washington College. She then went on to earn her D.M.D. from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA. Dr. Lee completed her General Practice Residency at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center located in Paterson, NJ where she received extensive training in all aspects of general dentistry including complex dental treatment.
Dr. Lee has volunteered at Susan G. Komen, Race for a Cure and the Special Olympics. She is also a current member of the American Dental Association.
Dr. Lee is passionate about her work and makes sure every patient is treated with the highest level of comfort and compassion.
Dr. Harsh Shah, D.M.D.
Family Dentistry
Dr. Shah earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology. He then attended New Jersey Dental School (UMDNJ) to earn his Doctorate of Dental Medicine. During this time, Dr. Shah was involved in extensive medical research. He received numerous awards, including a prestigious fellowship at the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research in Bethesda, Maryland. He completed his general practice residency at Hackensack University Medical Center, and is a member of the American Dental Association and New Jersey Dental Association. Dr. Shah holds a black belt in martial arts and enjoys playing pool and squash. He practices at all three of our offices, and has become an instant favorite with his outstanding ability and chair side manner.

Saturdays 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Special Hours:
Early evening hours scheduled for orthodontic patients
Early morning hours (before 8:00 a.m.) scheduled for special situations
Our office policy is to accommodate emergency patients during business hours on the same day. Also, a doctor is on call for emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Patients may choose to schedule their visits at any of our three locations at their convenience.
