Learn About Implants

What are Dental Implants?Crowns and conventional bridges or dentures may not be your only options when replacing missing teeth. For some people, dental implants offer a smile that looks and feels very natural. Surgically placed below the gums over a series of appointments, implants fuse to the jawbone and serve as a base for individual replacement teeth, bridges or a denture.

What Are Dental Implants?

A dental implant is a metal device designed to replace missing teeth. The device is usually made out of titanium and is surgically placed into the jawbone where the tooth is missing. Unlike a dental bridge, an implant is permanent.

A dental implant is designed to act as the tooth root and can anchor an artificial tooth or teeth such as a crown, bridge or denture.

How Implants Can Help?

If you want a dental restoration that looks and feels as though it's really part of your mouth, dental implants may be right for you. A dental implants is an artificial tooth root, your jaw bone fuses with the implant to provide a secure platform for a prosthesis - artificial tooth. Implants offer stability because they fuse to your bone. Integration of the implants into your jaw also helps your replacement teeth feel more natural and some people also find the secure fit more comfortable than conventional substitutes.

Restoration of Surgically Placed Implants:

After implants have been surgically placed and heal, second stage involves placement of implant attachment, into the implant and creation of crown that goes on top of the implant attachment.

Patient Testimonial

After spending years with bad teeth, at the tender age of 65 I decided to do something about them. It was a long journey to make my mouth look better and feel better. I am thoroughly pleased with my teeth and do a lot of smiling these days to show them off. The staff is wonderful and you will not be making a mistake in deciding to go to Feiler Dental Associates.
